first world problems

Whenever i complain or vent to anyone, they always wave my problems away and attribute them to minor bumps in the pavement as if they’re not serious enough to even worry about. umm HELLO, just because i’m not “struggling” doesn’t mean anything. my problems are just as legit as anyone else’s. like right now, i’m super pissed that i can’t find my new black nail polish i bought about three hours ago. like, i don’t remember taking it out of the shopping bag but i have no idea where it went. i’m upset. also, i have to wake up so early in the morning to go to the circus with my family. and it’s spring break. and i have to WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. ughh. and the thing that’s bugging me the most is my iphone totally freaked out on me and keeps harassing me every couple of minutes for someone else’s apple id. i could cry.

yeah, yeah, my problems aren’t that bad, which is why i absolutely love Babe Walker, the “author” of White Girl Problems. her problems are not problems at all. she’s spoiled and she doesn’t care what others think of it. i love it. for example, one of the problems is “i miss you, unless of course you miss me too because if so, i’m over you”. i can relate. 

i bought this book a few hours ago, (along with my new nail polish that has fallen off the radar somewhere) but i’ve been meaning to buy it for a while. i’m sure it’ll be a good read and make me feel like shit about myself but i’m up for it.

gratuitous text about me

i haven’t been on tumblr in months. it seriously bugged me that all anyone seems to do is re-blog pointless photos that have nothing to do with them. but i guess that’s what tumblr is all about. i’ve always liked to write. which is why i made another blog on blogspot that i’m sure no one reads but i still like to update it. whatever. 

i’ve also given up twitter for lent, though i’m not especially religious. it’s just something i’ve been wanting to rid of for a while and lent seemed like a good reason to do so.

but lets see. i’ve been obsessed with the hunger games since january when i read all three books within a week. it’s my replacement for harry potter i guess. (team peeta, btw). i’ve gotten into Lana Del Rey’s music, and have been listening to Born to Die nonstop since its release. i’ve also decided that i’m going to marry Frank Ocean. 

i got an internship last month with an NPO in DC as a social media/blog contributor, so thats cool. also, i’m studying abroad for the Fall 2012 semester in Leeds, UK, which is also pretty cool.
